The Brazilian industrial poultry farming was taking its first steps when Yamasa technology emerged. The company was founded in the 1960s, in the State of São Paulo, close to the city of Bastos, which was beginning to be recognized for its large egg production, and which in the future would be the Egg Capital in Brazil.
Yamasa was born by the hands of the Japanese immigrant Yorio Yamazaki, a man with an inventive spirit who wrote his name in the history of the Brazilian poultry farming by creating some of the first egg washing and grading machines to meet the needs of Brazil's emerging egg production. The machines built by Yorio accelerated production in the egg rooms and contributed to the professionalization of poultry farming.
In the 1970s, the pioneer Yorio was joined by his son Nelson Yamasaki, who started to help his father to run the business. It was during this time that the company adopted new administrative concepts, focusing on improving the machines invented by Yorio. With the growth in production, it was also necessary to organize a sales team to serve the various Brazilian regions.
Yamasa ushered in a new era of accelerated growth and innovations, even in the midst of long periods of crisis. It was the 1980s and 1990s.
The year 2000 continued with a flavor of challenges, with new and exciting opportunities. Globalization was becoming a reality and, by opening doors to the world, it also expanded Yamasa's opportunities
The company began to expand its presence in national and international Exhibits, including in Latin American countries, and in the United States. Thus, the company was building a network of relationships and representatives in other regions of the Americas, strengthening sales teams in Brazil and putting new ideas into practice for the portfolio.
Challenges did not stop. Serving the market, Yamasa invested in the modernization of large scale equipments and created the Breeder and Hatching Equipments Division, Yamasa Hatching Division (YHD), a sector that celebrated 15 years in 2023 and has been growing quickly with hatcheries and breeders.
The strategy of going international brought positive results. In 2010, the company received the Exporta São Paulo Award, created by the State Government.
In 2020, Yamasa celebrated 55 years innovating in poultry farming technology and automation with a solid presence in more than 25 countries in the world.
